A little story of courage

I could have put this into my trek post, but most likely it would have been missed. This is about a very small incident that happened on the second day or the trek.
When we started trekking for the day a couple of the trekkers were still pretty terrified of the bridges and needed some handholding to get across. Vidya was one of these, Asha pretty much walked her across them.
Along the way Jace, Shruthi and I ended up little behind the rest of the group. By the time we came to the bridge Thej was already getting off and Asha and Vidhya were midway. So Jace started crossing while I waited for Shruthi to get on the bridge. Suddenly Thej started waving fantically shouting "Train! Train!" We could hear the horn of the train from inside the tunnel just after the bridge but we couldnt see it. Shruthi quickly jumped off the bridge, and Jace ran back to safety.
On the other side Vidya was still plodding across the bridge holding Asha's hand. They were about 20 feet from the end of the bridge. Vidhya fearing the worst asked Asha to go on ahead telling here that she would catch up. Asha of course, thanks to the experience of holding her hand refused to leave Vidya and helped her cross the rest of the way. They did make the it across the remaining distance pretty fast.
I am proud of Asha and proud to be her friend. I think what she did in those circumstances was very brave.
It did turn out in the end that the train was one of those track repair ones and was travelling pretty slowly, So they were a lot safer than we originally thought. The whole incident at the time was pretty scary though.
